It's been a while since i used android, i had the HTC one M9 then switched to iphone then thanks to apple's BS over the battery picked up the S9+

However I'm having an issue with google assist, when i tell google to play a song or album it'll say "That album's only available for google play music subscribers. But try this google play music station"

I'm on the free version, but i have tried albums and songs i've uploaded to play music via the upload program on pc, i've tried albums downloaded to the phone, and even albums i purchased on the app, they all say the same thing.

How do i get it to play MY music? is it even possible or are they strong arming me into a subscription?

A possible fix and, if it doesn't work, a workaround. First, try asking Google Assistant to play a song "from/in my library." I've seen people claim that works but things may have changed (again).

If not, a suggested workaround that should work is to create a "playlist" of songs or albums you want sometimes want to play. So, you then would tell Google Assistant to play your playlist [album name] by [artist name] -- or whatever you named that playlist. It is a pain that you need to set up those playlists but it apparently does still work.

Thanks for the reply. I can confirm that playlists do work. However from/in my library is hit or miss. If i use the phrase "in my library" it says that is only for subscribers. If i say " from my library" i'll get a popup saying google play music keeps stopping.

Sorry I don't have a better suggestion, but at least by making the playlists you can get it to work -- as stupid as it is to make a playlist to be able to play an album.

Download and try samsung music, if the music is on your phone or Sd card that is.
