I use OK Google/Google Assistant for lots of tasks. Creating calendar events is just one.

On the N8 everything works perfectly..
- I say OK Google - it wakes up
- I say Create a new calendar event - the app starts and says what's the title (alternatively I can include the title in with this command)
- Google Assistant correctly captures my calendar event info and asks "Do you want to save this"
- I say "Yes"
- Then, it says Choose a app to do this

Now, everyone knows this is "first-time" behavior. Has been for quite a while

- So I choose Google's Calendar instead of an app that looks like Samsung's entitled "Details"
- It saves, and I figure I am done.

I am not.

Next time I make a calendar event it asks me to choose the app again. What, it didn't remember? So, I choose again. I have to choose every time.

So I go into Apps, find the Samsung Calendar and zero-out everything from cache/storage. Can't disable that app. At this point, everything should be good, right? Nope. Google Assistant still asks to choose apps.

A minor PIA.
Would like to fix.
Any ideas?

Well, I went that way...

I've used Package Disabler Pro with my N5/7, but this time I purchased BK Package Disabler since it seems to be less problematic and it has the Bixby remapper built in. So, I was hoping to not only fix the calendar problem, but also, possibly, find a solution to remapping the Bixby button that isn't a kludge. Here's what I found:

- Fixed the Calendar issue. Thought it would. Now everything is fully automated with Google Assistant when using voice to create new calendar events. As it should be. Nice.

- Bixby button remapper is still a kludge. Really Devs? We have to settle for watching for the Bixby open event, then display a brief portion of that function, then redirect it to a selected app? What a hack! This is what every app does. Maybe nothing else is possible without having root access. Maybe Samsung could offer this function for those of us who want to optimize the use of the button they planted on the side of our phones??

So far, I am living with the distracting flash of some portion of Bixby every time I press the button remapped to access Google Now. Having that access to the Now cards is such a cool thing that I'll probably look past the distraction over time.
