Has anyone had this issue with google assistant. I have my apple music linked with google assistant. If I ask google to play a song or album. It just says playing song on apple music and then I shows a button to open apple music. If I press the button it just opens apple music with out starting any music.

So far this is my only issue but it's a huge issue. I use hands free in my car and now I have zero hands free control over music.

Is there some solid trouble shooting tips for this? Switch away from apple music isn't a choice either.

Some rambling thoughts...

Google has been slow in updating apps in ios to deal with the new restrictions, so might affect even Android.

You now have latest One UI 3.1 too.

Apple has been busy with updated to iCloud, baked into MacOS 11.2 and iOS 14.4 as well as Windows 10.

______

Apple Music with Google Assistant worked previously? With another Assistant?

Interesting, apple music was last update for android on dec 11. I have used apple music via assistant before on the note 20 ultra.

You just had to specify google to play it on apple music. The interesting part is that apple allows you to link google assistant to your apple music.

I did some more messing around. It seems that you just can't get to specific with your request. If I ask play bands latest album on apple music it won't ever start playing it. If I ask to play the album by name on apple music it plays the album.

I guess that is a point for siri. With siri I can ask to play the latest album by an artist and it will play it. In google assistant it seems like you have to specifically ask it to play the album by name.

Problem solved!!
