Google Assistant Not Working Through Bluetooth

Is that what is being released today?

No, he is refering to Version 8.1 Developer preview 2. What is being released today is a security up from what I've heard. I don't know if the Bluetooth issue is fixed in it or not.

If you do decide to go the 8.1 beta route, I too can confirm that it is fixed.

Although I think Android Pay is broken in 8.1 dp2

Android Pay is working...their was an issue if your bootloader was unlocked but I believe for the most part it's resolved.

Well it looks like I needed to set it up again on the phone. So I am thinking it will be working on the phone, but now when I go to set it up on my watch (LG Watch Sport) it says that it can't be set up because my device is rooted, or has an unlocked bootloader. So I guess I won't be paying with my watch until sometime after the final 8.1 drops.

Yeah. Android Pay is working. I use it more than my card now. Anything that breaks that would be a deal breaker.

I tried to launch google assistant via my BT headset button and nothing happened. Tried with a second headset and nothing. Changed some settings and tried some more, nothing happened.

Finally thought to restart the phone. Did that and now I can launch assistant via BT button and the headset does indeed hear my voice commands. I left the phone in one room and went in the other with the headset, held down the button, heard the beep of GA kicking in, gave a command and it worked fine.

Not sure what settings I tweaked but I pretty much saw them all in this thread.
