Since the latest Google assistant update I noticed something weird. When I begin a question with "What's" or What is..." it thinks that I am saying "whatsapp" and it tries to send a whatsapp message. Example: "what time is it" Answer: "send a whatsapp to ....." Has anybody else noticed this? I have to rephrase the question for example to "tell me the time now" or something like that. Please advise.

I've noticed that problem for quite awhile..... you have to work your way around it like you are ;) One good thing is the assistant is pretty flexible, so you can word things multiple ways and still get your message across.

Yes absolutely true. You have to be flexible with Google Assistant. I mean sometimes it doesn't understand what I'm saying. not only do you have to annunciate things but you have to try different commands for the same action. Then it'll work if that makes sense.

Yes I do realize that that you can switch up the commands. However this just started happening recently. Whenever I would say what's the weather it would tell me what the weather was it would not direct me to WhatsApp.

Mhmm interesting comment you don't by any chance have the beta version of the Google app installed on your phone at all do you?

No I do not have a beta version installed. But I do know that the Google Assistant was upgraded on my Pixel 3 XL just the other day and that's when I noticed the issue.

Well, honestly do, that could be the reason why you or at least part of it. but for example, I know that one I enrolled my Google Assistant in the beta version of the app yesterday some of the functions on it were broken or were wonky and didn't work. I had to uninroll my Google Assistant app from the beta program uninstall, reinstall, then voice functionality returned to it like normal this morning.
