Why does play store show there is Google assistant there for us to download? Isn't the app already pre-installed in all Android phones? Or am I missing something? I am on Redmi Note 8 running on Android 11.

There can be some manufacturer and devices that dont include it , i Know Samsung/Pixels/One plus does , probably some off brand budget device might not come with it or some countries take away Google completely.
