Google backup app date question.

I recently did a backup of my Redmi Note 5 to Google Drive. The completed backup includes some apps not labelled with today's. Instead they have dates from previous backups. Does this mean that these apps were included in the latest backup or this a labelling error on the part of Google. I have noticed this oddity in previous backups.

It might depend on the last time you changed any settings for the app. Do you recall changing any settings for Chrome since February?

I cannot recall for certain whether I had changed the settings or not. However Chrome is updated frequently by Google Play but the backup says February. Also with the GPS apps, GPS Status and GPS Essentials one has been backed up on 3 June the other has not. I hardly touch these GPS apps or tamper with their settings.

Also confusing is that some apps have backups of a mere 1 or 2 KB.

Right, but the backup is for your account-specific settings, not the app itself or the history (since that syncs with Chrome in the cloud anyway).

The reason why some of those backups are so small is that it's probably just the settings data, which is pretty minimal.
