After you say "OK Google" you are supposed to get a beep. Usually you can go into accessibility and turn on one of the access toggles like Amazon, After you toggle it on you can say "hey google" and then you hear the beep.
I've done everything I could think of to fix it. It still responds but the beep is silent. When I tap the microphone it gives me the beep sound.
Driving me bananas.

Any thoughts? Anyone 🥺

If you have Bluetooth on it doesn't beep try turning Bluetooth off. I believe there is an option in all those Google settings that askes if you want to enable Bluetooth devices to respond to Hey Google or OK Google. I have to leave it on because my vehicle has wireless Android Auto so I can access Google through the vehicle system.

I get a vibration and a sound shortly thereafter with the Google toolbar. Let me try again. And with Hey Google and OK Google - I only get a vibration. These two are on my smartphone.
Google tool bar same for me vibration

APPRECIATE the response. I tried turning it off and on... Going to bed now to sleep on it. Thanks

After ok Google I get vibration
Did he take the steps to train his voice? I think after it recognizes his voice then the beep happens after the vibration. Or maybe he should just go to assistant settings and retrain his voice. That may solve his problem.

Can try that , I haven't gotten to deep to try different things

This must be due to update to Android 11. This used to be a problem, and there was an odd non-intuitive "fix." But I can't find it. Yet.

Yes done that as well. Cleared Cache Partition
Cleared Data for Google
Reinstalled voice and still it responds but no beep after saying Hey Google.

I think Google changed this

Yes they did....they wanted the assistant to seem more natural, like talking to another person, so they got rid of the pause and beep. Now you just say hey google and start describing what you want. The assistant is listening immediately and reacts to what you say. It took me a bit to adjust, because I was waiting for the beep, and the assistant was already miles ahead of me lol. Google has done wonders with their assistant :D

I don't mind it the way it is , just strange through my galaxy buds It does beep, at least they should keep it consistent .

Hey Google and the sound work with my Lenovo tablet. It does not make a sound on my Moto G7. I guess it is hit or miss with different devices.

Yep it is....it doesn't beep with my pixel and one set of earbuds, but does beep with my other earbuds. Some of it does seem to be device specific.
