So does this mean that the Atrix/Photon/etc will receive Ice Cream Sandwhich+future updates in a timely matter, and even could this mean the end of MotoBlur?

Has our dream of a pure Android Atrix been answered?

Most likely, not. If you read all the press release stuff you will see that Google isnt going to interfere with MM at all. They are going to let it run as a separate company. Basically Google wanted their patent portfolio. So they could have the 17,000 patents and 7,500 pending patents to use in legal battles against Microsoft and Apple.

The Nexus program is going unchanged. Meaning that even Moto will have to apply to be the next device to release a Nexus, even though they are owned by Google who is the creator of Android.

Since Google, for now, is taking the hands off approach there is no way that such things will occur. Death of Motoblur and IceCream Sandwich on such devices before others.

It is a nice idea and dream to have. But the truth is that right now it seems that this was only used to get a patent portfolio to use in defense of Android. If MM continues to lose billions every quarter we might see Google step in, but for right now it isnt what this buyout is all about.
