Google calendar time zones

Does anyone know if there is a magic setting in Google calendars that will prevent events from changing times when entering a new time zone? If I do something at 5 am every day in Arizona, it does not mean I want to start doing it a 8 am when I am in New Jersey, though this is what Google seems to think I want.

I don't think any calendar will do what you are looking for. Unfortunately if you want to do it at 5am still you will need to change it in the calendar.
