Google Calendar views??

I just upgraded from the S3 to the S5. I like Google Calendar so downloaded the app expecting it to look exactly the same as on my S3. It doesn't and I find it completely unusable. On the S3 I had a Month/List (or Agenda) view. That's what I was expecting. Is there anyway to make it look like that and if not, what's a good alternative if I need to be able to sync with my Google calendar from my laptop?

I like Business calendar pro. I got it free on Amazon apps and it could be free these days to everyone. My favorite is the widget full screen that shows the month view with short description of each days events. I have it synced with work calendars, sports calendars, google, etc.

If you're referring to what I think you are, you can change the view mode by tapping the date in the upper left corner.

Yes, that's what I'm referring to and I've done that, but on the S3 it showed the month with items listed instead of those stupid little colored blocks, PLUS today's agenda shown at the bottom. I need to be able to see it that way.

That sounds like Samsung's calendar app (which can also sync with Google), not Google Calendar. You may need to go into the settings, select 'view styles', and set 'Month view styles' to 'Calendar view + list'.

That is the Samsung calendar app. You may be telling it to place the items on the Google calendar but that is samsungs calendar.

Assuming that is correct then Samsung changed the calendar app on the S5 because I can either have the monthly calendar showing as much of the items as will fit with no list below OR I can have the month with nothing showing and a list of items below. I want both - the month with items showing AND a list below for today. Why does this have to be so flippin complicated?

The pic you posted is definitely the Samsung calendar and it is the same way I use it on my S3. I don't actually have an S5 to check but I found some screenshots here: Samsung Galaxy S5 review: Fab Five - page 11 - GSMArena.com

If the pictures are accurate then you are right, it looks like Samsung changed the calendar and dropped the text in the calendar cells when the agenda is showing. If this is the case then I agree, this is a horrible change! Maybe someone with an S5 can comment? Pocket Informant can be configured to show both text in the month view with the day's agenda below. But I've only played with it a bit but it might be another option. I haven't found any other calendars that do it.

Yes, the month and agenda view displays the calendar entries only on the bottom, in the agenda view. In the monthly calendar, events are depicted by dots.

Thanks for the confirmation, panda. That makes me really sad. The combination text in the calendar and agenda at the bottom is why I liked their calendar app so much. :-(

I use Wizz widgets and have a page dedicated to my Google calendar. It shows like the Samsung app when I put items on the calendar.

I don't know but in my S5 with stock calendar, that is the way it looks when I choose month + agenda.....exactly like the picture of your google calendar
