Hello everyone, first post here. I got my droid 2 on friday (gave up my Tour 9630) and came over here from Crackberry. I love the phone but the calender syncing from google to the device is giving me a headache. Ive gotten just about everything figured out but Im having one small problem. The last appointment I put in google calender synced to the device but it only appears in the "agenda view". In other words, when you look at the "month view", there is no little blue line or whatever on that dates box.

Forgive me if I posted this in the wrong place. Also, I apologize if this has already been asked. I searched but could not find anything like my situation.

If there are any suggestions for a better, smoother calender app, preferably one that already syncs with the contact b-days'/aniversarys and syncs properly to the device I would appreciate it. I would even like one that is like the blackberry calender that dont really need the PC.

I am an old Crackberry man myself. Left there 2 weeks ago. I use Pocket Informant, sameone I used on my S2. Its a little different, but much better than what else I have found.

I come over from crackberry also about 2 weeks ago. I got the D2 also and loved it so far. I haven't noticed that problem yet with my D2

I think I got it figured out. I have found that the calender works well when data is entered directly into the device which then syncs to the PC but does not work as well in the opposite order. Thanks for the posts. BTW, love this Droid 2 and the whole android platform.

I just discovered appointments need to "show me as busy" or else they don't show up on my phone...or at least I couldn't figure out how.

This was a recurring appointment created on the PC....I switched it from "show me as available" to "show me as busy" and then those appointments showed up on my phone.

I came over here from crackberry (Storm 1 owner) too....the native calendar app on the blackberry was definitely more user friendly in my initial experience.

some people have trouble with the calendar, i dont know why. but for most everything works perfectly without any hassle. it just turns out you had your seetings set up differently somewhere than most of the android users. good luck finding your problem, because i don't have to make my appointment post me as busy.

In the calendar options un-sync the calendar then exit the calendar and the re-sync it most likely will fix the problem.

Yeah I don't have to set the appointment as busy either. I create them online and leave them as available and it syncs over fine to the device. Good luck resolving it and definitely post back here if you find the total solution.

well new events don't seem to have that issue for me....

The event I had has been recurring for many months....so no more issue with that for me.

I don't feel like making a new thread, being a noob here and all, but I have an issues with Google Latitude also.

It doesn't seem to automatically update my location until I manually open up maps and let it locate me and all. I figured just having GPS enabled (through the power control widget) would allow latitude to update in the background. How come it doesn't do this? My wife has grown accustomed to using it to see if I have left work and lately she has been sending me messages to ask "when are you coming home?", which can be annoying.

Are you using a task killer? Also, check your latitude settings and make sure they are set right.
