Solved: Google Chrome. Add to Home screen isn't available in all websites, so can you edit the URL on a home screen shortcut?

This has been bugging me for years and finally managed to answer my own question. If you switch to "desktop view" the 'Add to home screen' option appears, so you can use that and then simply switch back to mobile view and the shortcut opens in mobile view
