Google Chrome App - remove "Trending Searches"

How do I remove "Trending Searches"?

I did a search online and found this, but it does not work:

Turn off trending searches

1. On your Android phone or tablet, open the Google app. .
2. At the top right, tap your Profile picture or initial. Settings. General.
3. Turn off Autocomplete with trending searches.

After you go to "Settings", there is no "General" to select.

Disregard.

I figured it out.

When you clear history though, it defaults back to "Trending Searches".
