Google Chrome is using 41% of my battery and if I close it, it automatically opens up again. I like the Chrome browser but how can I prevent it from using so much battery?

That's weird. Clear Chrome cache in settings - apps. Once there clear defaults, if any. Maybe there's another app opening it all the time.

If nothing works force stop or disable it and see what happens.

Use a different browser and see if there's any difference (Firefox, CM ...)

I cleared the cache and that saved 3%. I downloaded the Dolphin browser and that is using less than 1%. I'm not sure how to disable Chrome but force stopping it doesn't work.

Is the "clear defaults" box available? If so tap on it. In settings - apps (or apps manager) you should be able to uninstall updates or disable it.

The "Clear Defaults" button was faded and I couldn't tap it but I disabled chrome and that worked. I'll use a different browser from now on. Thanks for your help!

Glad it helped! You can always enable it back and update it from the Play store.
It could be good to reboot the phone after all these things you've done :)

See you around the forums.
