Google Chrome mobile, opening bookmarks in new tab

In older versions of Chrome Mobile you could open bookmarks in a new tab (a very efficient way to use). Then a new version came out and took that away but you could work around it under #flags . Under v49, you no longer can work around the lack of that feature. Is there a mobile extension or a new workaround to be able to open a bookmark in a new tab?
