I usually have one tab already open and would like to remain on that tab when I reopen the app. Instead I get a new tab that I usually exit every time I open the app. Is there a way to stop this? I'm on a S25.
So there's no way on android from stopping it opening a new tab after inactivity? On my labtop I can go to chrome on startup and fix that issue.I experience similar, with most browsers. Would be nice if they'd just open with no tabs at all if that was the last state when last closed, or only re-open the last tabs as opposed to also opening a new tab. The only thing I've been able to do to help workaround it is to set the new tab page to a null web page (like 127.0.0.1). Doesn't really solve the issue, but at least doesn't open what the browser developer wants opened.
When I open google chrome on my android in the morning, it opens a new tab saying continue on this tab.I'm not sure why you're seeing that -- whenever I tap the Chrome icon on my homescreen or App Drawer, it simply opens to my previously opened tabs, without a New Tab. I looked through the settings to see if there's an option to modify that, but couldn't find one.
Are you tapping on Chrome in your App Drawer, or on a Chrome shortcut on your homescreen?
Yeah on labtop you can change on startup settings while on android phone you cant. A know limitation.Mine usually opens to all tabs or last one I was in
Yes that i was explaining is on my s25u how it opens.Yeah on labtop you can change on startup settings while on android phone you cant. A know limitation.
Yeah but it still shows a new tab in the morning when I open chromeOh, I think I know what you're talking about. Try this:
1. Tap the 3-dot menu button at the upper right when you're in Chrome, then select New Tab.
2. Tap the 3-dot menu button again, and select "Customize new tab page" (near the bottom of the list).
3. Select "New tab page cards."
4. Turn off the toggle for "Continue with this tab."
Does the issue still happen?
