Google Chromecast - Any news on aircast?

What's the latest news about aircast from Mr. Dutta? I'd love to cast movies from my nexus 7 to my TV.

Aircast was an awesome app, however, Google intentionally updated chromecast and changed the code so this app won't work (twice), the developer is no longer working on this app (check his Google+ posts).
