I know this is more Google-related than Android, but maybe someone can point me to an answer or better place to answer this. Can you set an email wildcard for a Google Contact?

Example: AT&T sends me an account statement and payment confirmations from an auto-generated email address that always has a different number in it ("att-services.cn.*@emaildl.att-mail.com where the "*" is the auto-generated number.)

Can this be done?

Not at the contact level, as far as I know.

But your email client should be able to set a filter, then you can set a label for the email. I know goth GMail and Inbox, both, would do this quite easily.

I'm very familiar with Filters and Labels, so that's not the issue. I was just trying to get my email to recognize that the email is from AT&T and be able to show me the contact icon (yea, I'm picky like that).

Using filters, is it possible to *change* the from-address so that it corresponds to an existing contact record (trying to think out of the box a bit)??
