Google Discontinues Nexus 7

I hope they aren't still providing Nexus 7s with Google Fiber TV installs.. My Nexus 7 went belly up last year, and I'd prefer they provide something newer when they hook me up next weekend.

Considering the Nexus 7 has been out of production for a while, I would guess they won't give you one.

That's what I'm hoping, but it still says Nexus 7 in my "My Fiber" services. Outside hookup was done last week, inside hookup is scheduled for this Saturday, so I'll know soon enough.

Well I talked to one of my neighbors, and they did receive the Nexus 7 when theirs was installed last week.

I'm contemplating whether or not to pick up a 32GB model. It's on sale at a good price. I don't need another tablet though as I already have an iPad Air 2 and an iPad mini 3. However it would be nice to have an android device again as I'm all Apple at the moment. I do have a chrome-cast though.

They indeed provided the promised Nexus 7 with installation, which sadly (but not surprisingly) was only a 16gb model. I'm not sure the stipulations on it, so I'm hesitant to let my kids use it.. they are kind of hard on devices - especially my son, who has destroyed an ipod and two iphones, having none very long before breaking the screen and/or back. :|
