Google duplex

I tried to make a haircut appointment with it as well, but that didn't work really only a reservation at restaurants. Also you can book a hotel via duplex. Which is kind of crazy and cool...

That is pretty cool..

Seems like it'd be faster to just call the restaurant. Not to mention a piece of mind that the reservation was actually made.

Well sometimes it could work in your favor because once you arrive to your reservation and they didn't hold it ,you can show you made it with DUPLEX like a receipt , but if u call and made it and they didn't hold the reservation they could be like we didn't get your call to save their butt.

Good point about the receipt, but using this tool it's a lot more susceptible to giving the user an unnecessary ulcer. I've never had a restaurant claim they didn't get my call for a reservation. If it ever happens I can show them my call history. But that's never been necessary, and I personally would be much more confident by actually speaking with the hostess to set the reservation.

Plus you can often get better deals through hotels, rental cars, better seating at restaurants etc when you call in person if you know how to haggle abit, or use benefits like triple AAA, AARP etc. I would personally never use that service but I'm sure many will ;-)

So when are the machines going to rise up against us? :O

Yeah basically a paper trail.

Yeah but it's the fun I'm using Google's AI technology such as assistant, and duplex to help you with chores in life.

Yeah nothing wrong with that either. I use to go to the bank and deposit my business checks , now just do them with the banking app which saves me time and a trip going there. Looks like everything in technology advancement makes it more easier to do things.

Pretty much ..
Oh, definitely for sure! I mean sure I could easily call up a restaurant, or a hotel or some other business just like anyone else can. But why not use Google's AI technology if it's available to me? Not only is it cool and fun, but in the future It could work a lot faster.

All this technology and AI is designed to keep us from having to physically move to the point we can remain in one location, one position, one chair, all day, accomplishing our scheduling, our work, even our pleasure or leisure time, until we as a race balloon up and morph into Jaba the Hut-like figures, or until our need for physical bodies gradually devolves rendering our physical selves into globs of energy like on that Star Trek episode.
