Google Error Messages on Note 10.1

Recently when my Note 10.1 started I was getting a message saying "Google Plus Cannot Start" and then a box to close or report. I went into the App Manager and uninstalled all updates to Google Plus. I don't use Google Plus so I don't really care. This seemed to fix the problem and I don't get that message any longer. BUT now when I go to use Google Search from the home screen, I get a similar error box that says "Google Search Cannot Start". I am not sure what is going on. I don't think there have been any recent updates that I am aware of to Google Search. Internet and all other wireless access works fine. Has anyone else been getting this problem? How is it corrected?

Samsung throws all of these garbage apps on to their devices that cannot be removed without rooting and at just 4 months old I do not want to root the Note 10.1, so these apps cannot be deleted and reinstalled.

Thanks for any replies!

I'm not having any issues and yes, the Search app was updated a few weeks ago. But before you try uninstalling updates, try clearing cache first. If that fails, try clearing Data (but you'll have to re-configure everything again). If that fails, try uninstalling updates and then re-updating... But also, being a Google app, it wouldn't hurt to log out and re-log in with your account.

I tried as suggested and all that worked was uninstalling updates to put Google Search back to stock. Now it works. I am not going to update again unless I have to.

Thanks.

Samsung has a firmware update which should resolve the issues. It is only available through Kies.

I agree that the Samsung apps are mostly garbage, but remember that you can disable apps in Jelly Bean 4.1.2 so they don't bother you any more.

What does the Samsung firmware update do other than fix this problem?

Nothing. It only fixes some issues created by the latest google updates. Pathetic, but this thirty minute plus "firmware update" does not upgrade the OS it merely restores functionality to 4.1.2. Having to install Kies on your PC just to get the update is rubbish. It's a reason I'll be checking out of hotel Samsung in the future.

I did the update. All seems to work - for now. Thanks.

I was hoping that the update might in the least update the original Note 10.1 to the same Android version as the Note 10.1 2014. I have had the original for just four months and I am very annoyed that Samsung consistently, device after device, does not update the OS. One thing that can be said for Apple and IOS is that when an update for IOS comes out they distribute it to all of their models that can handle it.
