Google Fabric Case

I like the fabric cases that Google has for the Pixels. Even if they are a bit pricey. My question is how they deal with getting wet. If I am out for a run or a ride and get caught in the rain is this case going act like a sponge?

Ive had one on my Pixel 2 XL for a year now and I bought one for my 3 XL. They do get dirty and I washed mine with water and dawn dish soap and let it air dry overnight. Ive done this probably 4 times. So yes, it does take on water but it keeps its shape and drys easily. Its not like a sponge where it swells up, and i have to drench it to get it wet, if that makes sense. Cant think of something to compare it to right now.
