Google Feed is Blank

I tried force stopping the Google app and clearing cache, but couldn't get anything new on the UPDATES tab.

So when you hit update tab what does it do?

Greyed out because feed not working
Try clearing cache ,data then force stop google app then go back to google feed through search bar widget tap the G twice then bottom hit update

Well, clearing the data for the Google app and rebooting resulted in the GETTING STARTED prompt on the UPDATES tab. I followed it. Any back to the DISCOVER tab and the feed is back.
Thanks for the help!

It wasn't a big deal. I was just curious as to why it happened and how to fix it.
I reckon when I cleared data the first time, something hung.
Now I get a full page of results on a Google search.

The CUSTOMIZE setting is available in the menu and I think REMINDERS had been added.

Mine happened after I changed google email account for the phone.

Once you clear data on that app you basically taken out all data that was before on it , best way to deal with that is clear cache and force stop but in some cases you need to clear data also

If clearing data removed the feed and clearing data put it back, then clearing the data on the Google app is like a DISCOVER on / off switch.

Yeah if you disabled Google app it turns feed off
