Hoping someone can help.
About a week ago I noticed that my Google news feed wasn't working in the Google app. I get the 'Can't reach your feed at the moment message'. Also, when I go into the 'customise feed' section it says 'Can't reach settings at the moment. Try again later' plus a system pop up that says 'failed to load settings'.
Then today I opened the Photos app and it's stuck on 'getting photos.....'. It never loads my photos from the cloud. I've checked on the web and I can see grey boxes where the photos should be, but no photos shown. I can however see my photos when I search on the web version.
I know there is nothing wrong with my wifi and I have experienced the same problems across a number of wifi networks and my cellular network, so it's nothing to do with the connection.
Clearly something is wrong with my account that it stopping these apps syncing but Gmail and Calendar seem to be working fine.
I've experienced this now on two devices (Moto G5+ and Samsung S7).
So far I've tried:
Multiple reboots
Factory resets on both devices
Clearing app data and cache for the Google and Photos apps
Disabling and re-enabling the feed
Starting in safe-mode
Logging out of and in to my Google account
Unchecking and rechecking all sync items
I can't believe that these two problems aren't related however, I can't find any talk about these issues together.
Would really appreciate any help you can offer.
