Android Central Question

If Google started selling the Pixel 3A today, there would most assuredly be an article on here stating how GREAT the phone is. If Google Fi gave a $100 credit for some promotion to new subscribers, there would probably be an article on here for that as well. But Google screwing the pooch and causing major financial catastrophes for those that were dumb enough to buy a new Pixel 3 during their anniversary sale (or 3 Pixel 3's such as I did) doesn't make any headlines here.

No big deal though, Google just charged everyone that financed one of their phones during the Anniversary sale full price and just took the funds with no ones approval.

I guess if people really wanted to know about this, they would probably be reading about it at a real news site anyway, instead of a Google sponsored click-bate show.

Welcome to Android Central! Interesting how you accuse Android Central of being a Google click-bait site, when in fact the editors have been pretty critical of the Pixel 3 (in regards to RAM and camera issues). In any case, the forums are completely separate from the blog, and despite the ads you see, the posts from members are free from corporate influence.

If there was a problem with Google overcharging you and not honoring a sale price, then you need to contact the Google Store directly about it: https://support.google.com/store/answer/7334136?hl=en. Click the Contact Us button at the upper right to request a call or chat. Good luck!

To be honest, I've expanded my news sources for Android over the past year or so to include a number of others, since AC's blog has, shall we say, changed its focus a bit too much for my preference.

Google's always been a bit iffy when it comes to reliability of transactions. I would definitely contact the Google Store and let them know about the problems you're having. Also tell them that this has been a big inconvenience for you and has derailed your trust in the company, so is there anything they can do to continue keeping you as a satisfied customer? They might give you some kind of credit out of courtesy (most likely a credit on Fi).

This whole thing stinks. I was expecting a charge for $25 on Saturday, not $920. I think the worst part about the whole thing is that Google is very aware that this "error" has placed lots of people in very difficult financial predicaments, yet they have sent no email acknowledgement or apology to anyone. There's been nothing except for one acknowledgement on the Google Fi support page stating they are aware of the issue.

That's crap, and it's crap that Borderlands 3 gets ink here, but a known issue that has affected lots of people financially gets nothing.
