Google Fit MyFitnessPal linking issues

I've been trying now for the past few days and successfully to try and sync my Google fit to MyFitnessPal so that it tracks my steps and work out calories burnt etc. If I go into the MyFitnessPal app and try to sing it to Google fit I get to the screen where it asks me which Google account do I want to use and then I get a white screen in the middle that looks like it is a permission screen but it's just has a spinning circle at the top and fails to load. If I go into Huawei health there is an option therefore data sharing and MyFitnessPal is one of the options but again if I try to click on to this it gives me further issues by saying "Invalid API request (unhandled server error)"

Any ideas where it's going wrong?
