Google G2 now or wait...?

Hello folks...

Very new to android, wanted to try a different OS, not a fan of iOS so thought of buying Google G2. The specs seems to be good, will be going to t-mob shop in a couple of days to check the mobile.

I saw some posts here saying gingerbread is to be released by this year NOV end.

Should I wait for a next model or go ahead with G2? Any suggestions or help.

"Gingerbread" is the next version of the Android OS - not phone model. The G2 will be able to run the Gingerbread OS - so I would say go ahead and pick up the phone now if you end up liking it. T-Mobile doesn't always have great phones pouring in like Verizon, so jump on it now...otherwise in a few months the G2 will feel like old news and it'll be harder to decide on going with an older device or waiting for the next newest/latest.

I would go ahead and do it. I recommend going to the store and checking it out. I'm not sure if you are a current T-Mobile subscriber but if you are not, there are deals online where the are basically giving it away as long as you sign a 2 year agreement. The upgrades will come to at least honeycomb. Beyond that is a good of a guess as anyone's but by that time the G3 or (insert any hot android quad core omega phone) will be out. To me it is not only the best android phone but can go toe to toe with any phone on the market.

These threads pop up everywhere all the time. Basically it goes like this...if you want the latest and greatest device all the time then no phone will ever make you happy. Something better will always be on the horizon (that's how technology goes ). The only phone on T-Mo that is technically faster is the Mytouch 4G. Whether or not you like the styling of that phone or need a physical keyboard is personal preference.

If it were me I would get the G2 now. It took two years for it to come out after the G1. So my best guess is that the G3 (or whatever it would be called) will be out in another 2 years. The G2 is an awesome phone and you will not be disappointed. I came from an EVO and I like the G2 way better.

Thanks guys... Last week saw this for free with 2 year contract in best buy.

Thought of buying it this monday, but then the sale price is gone. I'm gonna wait for it to see if there could be any deals around X-mas.
