Maybe this has already been reported and if so excuse me but apparently there is a fix.

I never had any issues until recently. I guess the "fix" helped some and broke others? I have to open gmail then emails will arrive from hours ago.

Was this only for Gmail or Inbox too? Inbox hasn't shown me notifications in quite a while. Very hit or miss. Especially in morning when coming out of Doze.

It's not fixed yet. I just refreshed my gmail inbox and I was missing 2-4 emails from 2 hrs ago.

They said it would not be an update, just all of a sudden email worked properly again. Well that was a week ago, and it should have rolled out by now. Looks like they still have some fixing to do.

they said the fix will be rolled out in the next few weeks so it might still be rolling out

My notifications, or at least many of them, are still late on my 5X. It's not the end of the world.

I received a gmail update last night, still have the same issue this morning. 5+ emails.

Autosyncing email will feel like a new feature by the time they fix it. Probably won't be until Android N

Yep! I didn't check my email until I got home last night, and refreshed it manually, boom! There are those emails from 0900 at 2300.... Finally showing up in my inbox... Thanks Gmail!

I've tried using both inbox and Gmail and neither will work. So frustrating.

At this point I'm considering using a different email address/host and forwarding my gmail there until they get it fixed. It's absolutely ridiculous that they haven't fixed this yet. It seems to me like they have slightly improved it, before I could go 3 days or more without getting notifications if I didn't check manually, but now it's about once a day I at least get a notification for multiple emails having been received.
