Google Listen; Subscribe issue, am I being stupid?

I have installed Google Listen v1.1.2 onto my HTC Desire and have added a few audio podcasts.
If I click on the 'My Subscriptions' option on the homepage I can see all 5 of my subscribed feeds. When I click on a feed I get a screen with a list of episodes and if I click on one it always buffers the feed, downloading it live. It never seems to have them download on the SD card as I would expect.

In settings I have 'Refresh Subscriptions' set to 2 hours, 'Download New Audio' checked along with 'Only while Charging'. As the phone is on charge all night I would expect it to of downloaded something!

Also on that same screen there is always a 'Subscribe' button, if I click on it it changes to 'Unsubscribe'. However it still does not download podcasts. If I navigate away from this screen and come back the 'Subscribe' button has returned.

I have similar settings, except I don't have while charging checked. (The podcasts I listen to are not so large and my phone battery is never so low that it would matter). I do have only on wifi checked. I only check once per day.

My podcasts always seem to be on the phone.

So maybe there is a bug in the only while charging option?
