My DNA will not update its location. When I go to Google Now it give me a card saying "Location service is off. To continue using Google Now, you need to turn on Google's location service." It gives the link to settings. When I go to the settings all the location settings are turned on.

I've tried turning all the settings one and off (in all combinations), restarting the phone, powering off and powering back on, uninstalling updated and re-updating Google Search. All to no avail.

I feel your pain, Google now is basically useless now because of this. Hope a fix comes soon. :'(

So this issue is affecting pretty much every location based app, such as weather, Google now, maps, store locators on shopping apps, etc. Phone can't be used for the things that a person uses a smartphone for.

Are the Verizon location services active? If so, try turning them off and just use Google and/or GPS. Also try clearing the cache in Google search and other location based apps. I've not had a any issues, but I never use the Verizon location services.

Interesting, I don't have this problem at all. In fact, after the recent slew of updates, I have notice Google Now working much better. Could be that I had to dona hard reset recently when I changed my phone number. Might be a drastic way to fix the problem, but you could give it a try.

Yep...no problem here either...the only time there is a problem is if I am in a place where wifi is available but turned off and gps can't find me...like at work( in the basement) or in my garage for some reason.

I also agree with the suggestion about to clear cache.

Tried clearing cache, tried turning on and off the different location settings, tried pretty much all the suggestions short of factory reset, but getting desperate enough that I may do that soon.

Try doing a full reboot on the phone, not a quick reset...maybe pull the sim card a reinsert...good luck.

It seems odd, but I do think this is a Google Services issue. Since it was updated the other day, everything for me wouldn't work. "Location wise" Google did email back from sending the feedback report, and mentioned they were aware of the issue, and that other models were suffering from it as well. I did see a lot of One users having it as well.
