I have no idea which forum to post this in so I guess I will post it here.

Background:
I use two phones, both registered to my personal gmail account; a Nexus 6P for daily use and a Nexus 5 which I use as a bike computer when riding (and because it is smaller than the 6P and because I won't feel quite so bad if it gets damaged in a crash :( ). Both phones are on Google Project Fi; the 6P on a "full" card and the N5 on a "data only" card which is free and shares data with the primary card. With the data only card, I can make or receive calls from the N5 using the Hangouts Dialer, so long as I am in an area where I have a T-Mobile data connection. And 911 will work on any cellular connection at all.

Okay, so here is my question:
I have Google+ Locations setup on both my wife's 5X and my 6P so that we can see each others current location. Now that cycling season has returned, I would like for my wife to see the current location of both my 6P and my 5, but I am not certain if that actually works. With all three phones (inluding my wife's 5X) turned on and at home, the G+ Locations screen shows "2" at home, just like it did before I added the N5 to the mix. If I turn my 6P off and wait ten minutes to force Locations to update, it still shows 2. If I power the 6P on and the n% off, it still shows 2, etc.

When we lived in Florida, I was able to start and end bike rides at our front door. But, now, I need to load up the bike on the car, drive as much as 5 - 10 miles from home to find suitable riding territory, park the car, etc. Ideally, I would like my wife to be able to locate my car (because I leave the 6P in it) and also locate me on my bike (because I have the N5 with me).

Does anyone know if this will actually work? To ensure that she can locate me on my bike, do I need to power off the 6P first?
