Google Maps:Changing view

Ok I feel stupid; I've searched and searched and can't find an answer. I'm on Maps 7.2.0 and I can't figure out how to change the view for turn-by-turn navigation. It changed after a recent update: instead of the pointer always aimed ahead (third person view) and the map rotating while driving, the map orientation stays same and the pointer rotates with turns. Any help with this?

There is a small compass pointer in the upper right hand corner of the screen. One side of it is red and the other side is white. Tap that pointer and the map view cycles through all the different views.
