Google Maps Live Wallpaper

Just a quick question, I dont see the option in live wallpapers, how do i get the Google Map Live Wallpaper?

Go to Android Market and update google maps. Then it will show up under live wallpaper.

Thanks, I did it and it works, but its not updating my location or where I am. any ideas? I am also having trouble with the HTC Weather Widget getting my location.....

I am also having the same problem. It won't use the gps to pinpoint my location so it is pretty far off. As far as the weather widget goes, make sure it is set to current location and not a manually entered city.

Yeah, I have set that to my location, but its keeps just putting me right next to a cell tower....

Go to Menu>Settings>Location>Check Use GPS Satellites

This will enable GPS usage on Google Maps. Note: a clear view of the sky overhead is necessary for GPS to work.

Is the GPS turned on? I think it is off by default to conserve battery power and the phone relies on cell tower trangulation.

yeah, it works with my GPS, but with Cell Tower, it just puts me right where the closest tower is.
This may be a stupid question, since its called a Live Wallpaper, but shouldnt it kinda follow you and change as you move from location to location, or does it just update when your in the same place for a while?

As Strygun says above, the GPS receiver does need to have a fairly clear view of the sky in order to get your position. If you are in a building, it may have trouble getting this signal and will default to using cell tower positioning.

This is an issue with pretty much any GPS receiver, and is not Incredible specific.

can anyone confirm if the Google Maps Live Wallpaper, constantly refreshes as you move around? or only if your in a set location for a certain amount of time?

isnt there a live wallpaper on the nexus one that is supposed to be the proceesor and it has blue and red streaks moving around?.but its not on the incredible?

That's only on the Nexus one. There is a live wallpaper thread in the Incredible sub forum here with a link to that wallpaper though!

I noticed that this thread died without an answer. I too would like to know what is the actual functionality of this wallpaper. It just sticks me at a location about 2 miles from where I actually am, and thats it. Is this normal behavior?
