Google Maps new update 9 may problem

Hi,

I am using google maps on my atrix 2 with navigation dock for last 4 months without any problem. I updated maps with the latest update (9 may 2012), after that its giving me problems with navigation dock as well as without dock.
With Dock I am able to listen to voice directions, but i can not see anything on screen, no maps just all black screen. Also many time it just shows searching for GPS. Even if I kill the maps app , it still do not work. I have to restart phone and then use maps without dock.

I've never had this problem in any update with google maps in past. Anyone else facing any problem with new update? Please share if you were able to solve this problem. Any suggestions are welcome.

I don't have the dock issue as I do not use a dock.

Since the last update, I can't get the widget on my home -screen. When I'm driving, with the new Drive-Smartaction, it appears in one of the big tiles. However, when I'm walking, or trying to navigate while my wife is driving, it's a real pain in the ****.

Any help out there?

Navigation was an addon to Google Maps--Google replaced it with a completely integrated function and lost several popular features in the process. Big discussion over on the Samsung S3 forum under "Navigation App missing after Google Maps Update?. Lot of unhappy people. Some backing out the update--some going to a different app. I'm now using MapFactor Navigator upgraded with TomTom maps--the free ones were not accurate for my area.
