Has anyone in the UK had the Google maps update showing road speed limits, if so, how accurate are they? I need to keep my license. I'm not keen on using Waze.

They are accurate in U.S. should be the same

Those may be accurate for long term roads, but they don't update instantly. It's possible for them to change for various reasons and go who knows how long before Google updates. I would work on paying more attention to the signs and only consider GPS speed limits was a backup.

There supposed to be a update soon for Google maps here in the US for speed , so I would think later other countries will get it

I already have it

Different updates than what the OP is asking about. The new update, which I believe you guys are talking about, shows your current speed as well as showing the posted limit. The OP is asking about seeing the posted limit for roads.

I have only seen it while getting directions to specific places. When I use AA I don't see it on my display.

I have both so how is that different as far as accuracy?

I've been seeing the speed limit indicator plus School zones and such for a couple of years. But - GIGO
So sometimes it agrees with the road signs, sometimes does not.
Garmin has been doing a fair job of updating the firmware. I look for an update before we go on a cross state or out if state trip or at least 2x a year.
Blessed if I know what they get out of it tho.
