Google Maps Update

Used the Nav this afternoon. Very accurate. Why would anyone buy an overpriced navigation system for their car.

Same, everything looks good here... Will definitely use the Navigation tonight and report back if any issues.

On another note, when using 6.9.2 I noticed my phone got VERY warm well using Navigation, but when I used Waze for Navigation it didn't get warm at all... Very interested to see the comparison on this version.
Navigations works perfectly, used it on every delivery run I made tonight (even though I didn't really need it at all) just to see how it all worked and test for heat issues and voice recognition of addresses... no heat issues, ran cool as can be, and the voice recognition got street address correct every time!!! So I will admit this version does not suck!

Although this probably isn't the place to have this discussion, I will touch on it... One of my jobs is pizza delivery, I am in and out of my car dozens of times a night and I like to keep my phone on me all the time, it is a pain to constantly remove it and put it back in the car, if I had a dedicated GPS with similar features (voice search is my main interest) and accurate maps, I would jump all over it in place of my phone, but to find a GPS that accepts voice commands reliably with Octane turned way up on the XM like my Rezound with Google Maps or Waze does, takes a fair chunk of change, more than I am willing to pay right now.

I also used maps on my rezound with no issues! Glad to see working again.

Working fine for me too. Wishes the public transportation info was a layer you could turn off.

Less than 24 hours and my Rezound is back to rebooting over and over again, with the 6.11 update. Is anyone else having this problem also?

Mine is still running fine on day 2. Maybe your issue is different; and maps is just a red herring...

It seems like most people are reporting good news. Hopefully everything is fixed.

Just turned my nav back on to test. In the mean time, it might help if you list your current OS/ROM version on the phone.

Rezound - Unrooted Stock ROM (ICS upgrade) - Android 4.0.3

After completely disabling Maps and uninstalling other app updates from this morning, the phone finally calmed down. I have upgraded to 6.11 (from stock 6.3) and all seems to be well. The only thing I can guess is that maybe one of the other app updates was using location-based services and triggered the uncontrollable reboots. (the behavior was exactly like the 6.10 problems, with 'system_server' pegging the CPU) The only thing I did differently this time is upgrade the stock Maps app instead of upgrading from 6.9.2. Unknown if this made a difference.

Thanks to all!

Is this new update still working for everyone?

Just downloaded this. No reboots so far. I will test again later today. Thanks for the info.

I have used several times since the update with no issues

I use it daily and have had no reboot issues, in fact, this seems to be the best version of Maps I have used so far, lower battery use, less heat build-up (had issues with this in 6.9.2), and better voice recognition... really have no negatives at all to say about the 6.11.1 version.

Used it for the last few days and had no issues. I think that all votes are in on this version of maps.
