Google Maps update

If everyone who is unhappy with the new app uses the feedback option in the app's menus, Google might be motivated to do something about it. Complaining here probably won't do much good.

Well I figured out my problem, somehow the compass was set to orient North at all times. I tapped the compass and it reverted it back to "follow me" . Don't know how that got checked but I only noticed it because I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and the default setting is "follow-me".

Of course there is no documentation ot tutorial for any of this from Google so it's sort of like trial by error.

Uninstall the Google maps update to get the navigation back.

Actually if you go thru help in the Maps app you get taken to some pretty good tutorials on the Web.

Except that Google's feedback from the phone doesn't work correctly. All I get is an error message when I try to tell Google their update s*&ks donkey you-know-what. I am thoroughly disappointed in this update. I WANT MY 1-TOUCH NAV BUTTON BACK!

Tried that. Didn't work for my LG Lucid 4G.

Since you are impressed with the update, can you tell me how I can exit navigation or google maps without having to "close all" to end the navigation. I have yet to find "Exit".

Yes the new Navigation is just plain awful. Apparently it does "live rerouting" or something but I am the kind of person who is constantly looking for the best way around traffic and the removal of the alternate routes is completely baffling. Add to that the fact that if you leave the app it's a real pain to get back to navigation, which is really bad because you are of course driving (though of course I shouldn't be going to other apps and stuff while I'm driving in the first place ). And the other day I looked up directions and I couldn't for the life of me how to activate navigation from there! I had to go back to Google Now and tell it to Navigate.

I have of course uninstalled the update, which is a slight pain when I do my daily app updates and can no longer just hit "update all". With such huge and inconvenient changes, is there any word from Google as to whether they are going to fix these things? Any way to give feedback to them?
