Google Maps

Good Morning, I just switched from iPhone to Android and had a question concerning Google Maps. One of the few things I liked about Apple Maps was you could put the screen to sleep while it was navigating and it would only light up the screen for a turn or an announcement. Is there a setting in Google Maps that will allow this. I'm on a Essential Phone PH-1.

Speaking about Google Maps/Android in general, you can put the phone to sleep simply by pressing the power button.

The phone won't light up for the next turn, but audio announcements will continue just as if the phone were on.
