Google Messages blank setting

Does anyone else have this blank setting toggle in Google Messages advanced menu? The toggle is on but there is no description. My Carrier is AT&T and I'm using e-sim.

For me I see the auto download MMS when roaming.

OK, this is weird. P6P on Verizon and I have a blank setting but not the same one. Updated to Feb. security patch yesterday.

My guess is the blank space is for Service Messages. Can you guys turn off the blank toggle switch?

I can toggle it but not sure what it does.

I just noticed that when tapping on Advanced, I get another brief line showing up (had to turn on animations to see it) and played it back. Here's a screenshot of that, right before it goes to a blank entry.

Right after the above happens, it morphs into a blank entry.

I have a P6P on Verizon with the Feb patch and I also have the blank setting.

It might be for the new iMessage interface to display iPhone emotions (I forget the correct term) it's supposed to be a server side thing that we will eventually see. I have a Verizon MVNO and I don't see it yet either.

I can toggle the switch but I see nothing happening as far as like features.

That toggle switch toggles in and off for me on my Pixel 6, so maybe it's another server side update that is rolling out slowly.

I had a blank box enabled earlier today. Now the whole box is gone. Enable iPhone tapbacks?

I got a Messages app update today and the blank setting is gone.
