Google Messenger and Lollipop?

Hey folks!
I'm still adjusting to the shock of the Lollipop update. Not a fan of losing the ability to set my phone's font to Helvetica, that was ridiculously satisfying for me.
Other than that minor irritation, the big issue now is that I can't use Google Messenger, which has been my go to sms app. Thus far I haven't been able to receive or send MMS messages using Messenger. Is there a fix for this that my Google searches have yet to turn up? I'm using Hangouts right now as my sms app, but boy is it ugly on the eyes... Help!

I don't know about Google messenger, but I can still use Helvetica as my M8 font after the update to Lollipop.

How do I switch it back to Helvetica? Am I missing something?

Nevermind. Brain fart. Fixed the typeface issue. Still having problems with Messenger.

there are a lot of comments on the google messenger download page about MMS issues. It's likely not specific to your phones, but a combination of that app and Lollipop in general? I have never used it, although it looks nice, because I used google voice with hangouts and its just easier to use one app. But it sounds like messenger is really kind of unreliable. I wouldn't use it until they fix whatever issues they are having with it.

Good to see you got the font part, now regarding the Google messenger issue, I would suggest that you contact the developer to get a better and detailed response about the issue you have.

That is the developer email of the google messenger as written on its PlayStore page, giving that it is google we are talking about, that email should be handled by a team rather than just one person, so you should get a fast response from them. Just make the email looks official so that they don't ignore it

Google released an new Messenger APK for 5.1 Lollipop. What kind of foolishness is that? Only 3% of phones have Lollipop 5.0 and they are not releasing Google Messenger for it. What phones are even running 5.1? I prefer messenger but the lack of MMS is silly.
