Google Music Beta invites... what gives?

got my invite...
So what is the maximum amount of space we can have per account? I am also uploading a ton of songs and wanna make sure my time spent loading ALL of them isnt gonna be wasted by a "out of space" message when i could have just been picking out my favorite albums.

Also i might add that i am using a macbook to upload and when i shut the lid (putting it into sleep mode) the upload would not start back when i woke it. I had to restart. So just thought i'd add that bug to the list. I only tried it once tho... after that i kept it running all night.

No space limit, per se. There's a limit of 20,000 songs. But note that they are all re-encoded to mp3 on Google's servers, regardless of what format you're using. Not sure what bitrate but they don't sound bad. If I had to guess I'd say V2.

85GB is the max from what I understand.

Personally, I'm torn. I like the idea of being able to load my stuff once, and access it on any device. Not needing 64GB of storage on every device is great too. Nonetheless, having everything loaded locally has its benefits. It's always instantly accessible, without regard for 3G/4G reception or wi-fi availability. Furthermore, the days of unlimited data plans are all but over. It's going to cost you to store large amounts of data in the cloud (I expect free accounts only for small storage space), and it's going to cost you to put it there and retrieve it.

Also, I like lossless codecs for music, and none of today's cloud-based music services are going to support lossless (without transcoding to lossy).

Not sure if covered, noticed you cannot listen to music simultaneously on different devices. I was playing music on my xoom, while organizing my google music library on the pc, and accidently hit play on the pc and the xoom stopped playing. there was a message saying music is being played on another device. and when i hit play the pc stopped playing.

Have most of the xoom owners gotten their google music invites? I requested an invite when they were first available, and have had my xoom for awhile now... Guess more waiting for me.. sigh.

Nope. I got my Xoom and still waiting for my invite. Hopefully I get it soon. It will be nice to have it when I am traveling for the Memorial Day Holiday

Not sure the issue. I just went to it and clicked get invite and it just signed me up and let me get in right then. Maybe it has something to do with signing up on my xoom. Not sure.

I got my invite the other day and it works great for me on any computer and my Xoom but it won't sync with my Droid X (2.2). I went to setting and selected my Google account but none of my music shows up on my phone. Anyone else having this problem?
