Google Music letting wifi sleep?

I currently have wifi set to go to sleep except when it's plugged in. I have no use for it to be on all the time, so I want to save battery life.

However, when I'm streaming via Google Music, it doesn't seem to keep the wifi alive. Nor does it wake it up. Anyone else seeing this? Or is this how it's supposed to behave, or is it a bug.

I initially thought it was because I was playing cached music, but even when starting something, I only get a few songs before it stops playing. So it leads me to believe google music can't wake up wifi here.

How much battery do you think you are going to save with the wifi off? I streamed pandora and had my 7 connected via bluetooth to an external speaker for nearly 7 hours the other day. It hardly used 25% of the battery when I turned it off. The battery of the 7 is incredible. Some of you people are off the wall about hoarding battery life. You can re-charge it remember.

Well, I get a good bit of notifications, so the active wifi connection takes a decent hit. Or, at least it seems to. I'm just testing to see how it goes. I just noticed this and it seemed odd Google Music wouldn't keep the wifi active on demand here.

Also, some of us just want to avoid recharging as much as possible.
