Google Music

Is anyone using Google Music on the Infuse? I'm completely disappointed with Google Music. The Android app seems to be really bad. Every single time I connect, it doesn't find my account. I have to clear data or re-install the app in order for it to give me the account screen again. Then if I select shuffle play, it only plays the first song over and over. I have to manually hit the next track button for the shuffle to work properly. I've written Google twice already. They said the shuffle was being fixed -- and that was over a month ago! I'm so unimpressed with Google Music so far. They have a lot of ground to cover. Amazon Cloud by far is my favorite streaming service.

I don't think an invite is needed any longer. Just visit the music.google.com page and request to join it.

I'm sticking to storing my music on my device. I don't see any benefit in relying on cell signal to listen to my music. I tried rhapsody a while back and it made actually listening to music and chore. I know this is a little off subject, but thought I would post anyways.

Google music is useful because you can carry your whole collection of music with you without using upnmemory on your phone. You can also access your music on your computer. Streaming music does have its disadvantages, but that's the price you pay.

Google Music is "useful" if it actually works. It forgets my account every single time. If I close the app and go back to it later, I have to start everything all over. The ironic thing is that Google bought SImplify Media a year or so ago, and that app worked well like magic. It streamed my home music without any glitches. Like what Apple did with Lala, Google seems to follow in Apple's footsteps with Simplify Media. I still have hopes that it will all be fixed, but in the meantime, I keep sending feedback to Google Music about the glitches. That's what beta is, right? :)

On the other hand, the Amazon Cloud Player is working flawlessly.

I have it but I have a question, do I have to be on wifi to stream my music because that's what it seems like lol

Same here. It's one less thing I have to worry about. When I want music, I get music. Going to have to get a much bigger sd card though:-)

It works fine on my phone, so far, are you stock or rooted?

I'm rooted. Do you think that could be the problem. No other music service seems to have that problem. I also use Amazon Cloud, Orb, Pandora and XM Sirius. All remember my log-in info.

Well, that's fine if your music fits in a 32GB card. :))

<giggling> Well that's true! :-) I'm planning to set my Infuse up to access my desktop so I can not only send files on the fly, but so I can play all the music on my dedicated external HD. I hope it works!

How can that be done? I'd love to have that set up on my Infuse, too.

Yea perhaps because I'm stock and it works fine

Hmm, I guess I need to un-root my Infuse. We'll see if there are instructions on how to do that.

I've used google music and haven't had the problems you're having, but I was using wi-fi whenever I did use it.I'll try using the network this week to see if I notice a difference...

I have an Atrix, but have had zero problems with my Google music app. It works much better than pandora or any others that you stream music with, even giving me seamless music while on 2 bars of E. Sucks that you are having problems, maybe try to re install?

Thanks, everyone. The only thing that could be causing these problems is indeed the fact my Infuse is rooted. I don't know why it would affect only Google Music and no other application. I have no problems at all with Orb, Pandora, Sirius XM, Amazon Cloud Player. They all remember my accounts, user names, etc. I've deleted the app and reinstalled it and also cleared cache. The minute I turn off the phone, Google Music forgets it all.

I don't have a solution for your problems but can add that I have an infuse that is rooted and running a custom ROM and have no problems with Google music. Currently I have the Infused ROM v.2.0.0 with only Touchwiz 3 installed. I've only had an Android device for about a month, wish I could help a little more.
