So I woke up to my phone this morning stuck on the Google screen and that is as far as it gets. I want to do a factor reset but then I will lose all my pictures.
The issue is when I plug it into my computer it does not recognize it. What are my options? Any further things to try in recovery mode so a computer can see it?

TIA!

So even though I can boot into recovery mode nothing I can do to see internal memory?

Turns on just stuck on the nexus screen. Was hoping I could find some type of utility that would help me out.

Short you can't.
Long to get out of a bootloop you have to reflash which makes it like a brand new device.

Am I missing something here?

I do a factory reset about once a month (because of trying out different ROMs) and I've never bothered to backup my photos because they're always there when I boot back up. Doesn't the factory reset only clear your system data and remove all user-installed apps? My understanding is that it doesn't touch user files.

But don't take my word for it until at least one other person confirms this. It could very well just be specific to ClockWorkMod recovery.

This is what I remember too. My music folder was still there, as far as I can REMEMBER it.

Factory reset doesn't wipe your files, only wiping internal storage does it (obviously). So its safe to do a factory reset.
