I bought a supposedly stock nexus 4 board for a Nexus 4 I have. I had a local tech I trust install it and the screen says "paranoidandroid 3+".
The Nexus X never appears...
Under about device it states that it is android 4.2.2 and paranoid android 3.65.

I want this to act like a stock nexus 4. I have tried the wugfresh toolkit several times, but can't get back to the stock nexus 4. I have done it with my rooted 2nd hand nexus 7, so I am not totally inept...

Can anyone please help me?

Using the toolkit you mentioned is a good start. But you?re probably approaching the issue wrong. What you want to do is not ?remove? Paranoid Android. You want to download the stock N4 ROM and flash it. All this can be done in the toolkit you mentioned. Give it another try.

Download the stock 4.3 image from Google at https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images#occamjwr66y. Make sure you have Wugfresh v1.75 or download and install the latest version from [Toolkit] Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit v1.7.5 [Updated 11/08/13]: Nexus 4 Thread - xda-developers.

When they work, toolkits are great. When they don;t work, toolkits are extremely frustrating. If you have problems restoring the 4.3 factory image using the toolkit, carefully follow the directions at [HOW-TO] How to flash a factory image / return to stock / unlock / root # - xda-developers.

Note: Backup the contents of the Nexus internal storage to your computer before you restore the factory image since this process will completely wipe all storage on your Nexus.
