Google Nexus 5 - could not upload photo

I wanted to post a photo, on the WPCentral forum (same as this site)
But the Nexus 5 "failed to open selected file" or some BS like that.
My Windows Phone also failed to "browse" to the files.
I had to use my 3yr old GB2.3.3 device.
Is this feature (file browse/ upload) locked out on these new OSs?

Found out that Windows Phone "sandboxed" the files or browser, for "security" I am sure Android did the same thing.
