This has been a huge PIA for me for a long time and I couldn't find the answer until last night so I thought I'd post the instructions here for any new folks that can't figure it out.

1) go to Google image search
2) type in 1920x1080
3) go to MORE and then go to search tools and click on size.
4) the width and height box will pop up and for width type 1080 and for height you enter 1920 and hit OK
5) click an image on the search result and save it.
6) open the image in the gallery and hit set as and voila no cropping you just hit set wallpaper and your done.

Android is terrible when it comes to this and I have been searching for a long time on how to do this so I thought I would just pass it on to anyone that has trouble.

Hmm...well you can download ANY image, open it in gallery/photos, menu, set as...done. Of course searching specifically for 1920X1080 will get you HD only, but I generally prefer using Zedge or PicSpeed for great looking wallpapers.

+1 to Zedge... very easy to search for HD images and set as wallpaper

If you do that it crops it this is so there is no cropping and it actually looks good and yes I use zedge but zedge is very limited where Google image search is endless
