You can customize the gestures on Nova Launcher. I have Google Now tied to double tap on my Nexus 5

I am trying to use Nova laauncher and the double tap feature to wake the phone up. Is that possible? So far I haven't found a way that it works yet. What i want it to do is i can double tab on the phone to see the display.(instead of having to type the home button all the time)

Coming from a Moto X i really miss the pulse notifications and with the Nexus 6 ambient displays I figured getting close to what i had would be a double tap feature

Nova Launcher Prime lets me set things up exactly the way I want.

With that compressed app drawer, you might find apps easier to find if you made them smaller. I'm not sure if Nova lets you. Apex does. Here's what your 8 x 7 drawer would look like with the icons scaled down to 70%:

A quick follow-up question: Has anyone with Nova Launcher installed had problems with the phone rebooting or turning itself off? Some people are blaming it on apps installed (specifically stating a launcher could be the culprit) and others are saying it's Lollipop itself or a hardware problem. I'm hoping that Nova is okay, as that's probably the first thing I would want to install on my phone.

Nova works flawlessyly for me.....Nova Prime that is.

Been years since I used anything but Nova Prime. I absolutely love it. Haven't had any problems with it whatsoever on my Nexus thus far.

Unfortunately we do not have the ability to double tap to wake currently. However, I have heard and read in a couple places the possibility exists in the software to make that happen, but as of now it hasn't been implemented.

Using Nova you can double tap to sleep. But that involves downloading another app and using gestures.

I find Nova to be a little small compared to the size of Nexus 6, but you can change that with a little work.

Although the one thing Nova Launcher lacks right now is swipe left to open Google Now. The Trebuchet launcher for CM11 actually can do that.

I have a swipe up gesture that launches Google Now.

Totally understandable. I've been thinking about that, too, as I am planning on closely (but not identically) copying my tablet home screen(s) on my phone. I actually have no dock and no icons on the home screen, but I use Swapps as a side launcher with Nova Prime to quickly bring up my favorite, most used apps. Needless to say, I really like a clean home screen with very little on it. I have been playing with the idea of doing something similar, placing my contacts and phone on the Swapps side launcher and only having a few shortcuts to the people I call most often on the homescreen. Won't know for sure until I'm setting up the phone. I'm hoping that Swapps will be compatible with Lollipop because I love having few-to-no icons on the home screen.

the main #1 reason i use Nova Launcher on my Nexus 5 (and future Nexus 6) is to remove the mandatory Google Search Bar Box and free up that real estate for my Fancy Widgets Clock/Weather Widget with H7C Clock Skin.

Same here as well. I love Fancy Widgets...been using it for years. I use Morena Flat Icons as my theme for Nova Launcher.

Have they updated fancy widgets? I got it years ago and the last time I had checked, it was updated in 2013 or early 2014. I really loved them and their HTC weather animations.

I'm using Nova prime. Nova came preinstalled on CleanROM, and I bought prime.
