Google Nexus 6P USB-C Charging

Re: USB-C Charging

I tried the iKNOWTECH cable (which is approved by Benson Leung),
but it doesn't work. I left it on the charger for 15 minutes, and it increased 1%. The
Ampere app shows it at a couple hundred mA.

In order to get the phone charged here at work, I plugged the original Samsung
cable back into the charger, used a CableCreation micro to typeC adapter on
it (not approved/certified). It is charging rapidly.

Never mind -- the iKNOWTECH cables are no longer approved by Benson Leung.

I must have missed it. Has Benson Leung published his test protocol anywhere? Is the charging standard published somewhere? What are these cables being tested against?

Are these issues only when one side is a normal USB? The blog seems to only review cables with A+C. I am using a J&D Type C since I needed longer but according to Google the USB A/C combo isnt compliant when made by J&D. Ugh... Help?

What do you do with non-compliant cables?

That is somewhat my question, too, after getting the OnePlus refund. While using it as a bow for a present for a geek sounds good, the cable seems a bit long (and stiff) to use it that way.

ChoeTech USB A to C Cable - Confirmed Safe and Working

There is another player in the game. I reviewed this on Amazon. I highly recommend the Choetech Cable. Here is my review:
Check R:

Check R test 1 - pass
Check R test 2 - pass
Check R test 3 - pass
Check R test 4 - pass
Check R test 5 - pass

Ampere Draw test from PC:

Ampere draw from Dell pc USB a port - avg 1400mA in charge mode
Ampere draw in mtp Dell pc - 490mA

Transfer Speeds:

Transfer to pc - 22.667mbps
Transfer from pc to phone - 27.2mbps

Length - much longer than USB c to c included with Nexus 6p. Nice for bedside because I can charge it slow overnight and be able to use it since it's plugged in a few feet away. The c to c included by Google is almost to short to use at all for me in the bed.

Nice click and holds great in phone. USB a end holds tight in pc. The cable also comes with a velcro cable tie. It is very high quality. I recommend trying this cable out! Well worth $9.99.

Literally JUST clicked check out ordering the 15W Type-C charger from Google. I think I've fallen for how fast it chargers and no longer want to use my existing chargers with an adapter. :D

What about this one on Amazon B017BVLLC6, did anyone tested it? seems to be a combo for the type-c charger and the type-c cable end to end with 5V 3A, please advise.

I bought converter plugs--mail usbC to female 2.0 to use with all my old chargers. 71. cents each from China with no shipping on Amazon. I'll let you know how they work

I'm testing this one on Amazon B017I7EX46, it works well with my genuine Google cables so far.

Bought the Cheotech C to C from amazon (Item B017W2RWBI):
Robot Check

Works great for 3A charging the Nexus 6P using the plug-in USB-C charger that shipped with the phone.
